NOMSA is a San Diego–based ensemble dedicated to performing both traditional and modern music from Southern Africa. With a deep respect for cultural heritage, the group brings the ancient melodies of Zimbabwe’s Shona mbira traditions to life while also showcasing the vibrant rhythms and dynamic dance of South Africa. Committed to preserving these rich musical legacies, NOMSA bridges the past and present, inviting new audiences to experience and celebrate the diverse sounds of Southern Africa.
